How to Use Apple Cider Every Day

November 4, 2015

Apple cider vinegar is a multitasking wizard. It contains acetic acid, which is known as a safe disinfectant that kills bacteria on a plethora of different surfaces, from your kitchen counter to your face. It also deodorizes, helps maintain pH balance, and only has a few calories per tablespoon. As amazing as ACV is, it’s also important to remember that it is still an acid, and should almost always be diluted, especially if you consume it. Below we outline some of our favorite uses for apple cider vinegar.

Clean Green

If you are looking for an all-natural, DIY cleaning solution then apple cider vinegar is a great option. It works as a disinfectant and absorbs odor, all without any harsh chemicals. Check out our blog post here for instructions on how to whip up your very own ACV all-purpose cleaner.

All-Purpose Treatment

Sore throat? Gargle apple cider vinegar and water. Stomach troubles? Drink one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and water.  Itchy skin? Apply a little apple cider vinegar to the affected area. The list goes on and on, but as you can see, a little ACV can work wonders for a variety of different ailments. It’s also been known to boost energy levels because it contains potassium and amino acids that help fight fatigue. Dilute a tablespoon in a large glass of water in the morning to start your day off right.

Beauty Booster

Apple cider vinegar has been touted as a miracle solution for everything from yellow teeth to dandruff. It’s also been known to help clear skin, freshen breath, and reduce any unsightly swelling or bruising. Basically, keep a bottle on hand to use in your daily beauty regimen! Always remember to dilute apple cider vinegar if you are using it directly on your skin.
