In celebration of our “Unjunk You Lunch program,” we are bringing you healthy breakfast and lunchbox ideas for the school year! For August and September, Rudi’s along with Naturally Savvy is promoting the online magazine “Label Lessons.” “Label Lessons” is available to the public and is specifically aimed at “Unjunking” your kid’s lunchbox by educating parents of the harmful ingredients found in common lunch box food products. The magazine also provides healthy alternatives to the staple foods of the school year. To read the magazine click here . At Rudi’s, we will be posting recipes and articles in our blogs that will make it easier for parents to ensure their children a nutritious lunch free of harmful ingredients, preservatives and additives!
Dominic here to share one of my favorite childhood fall breakfast and or lunchbox recipes! Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I always loved my breakfast and or lunches during salmon fishing season, which happens in late summer/early fall. My Dad always made homemade smoked salmon and during the school week, my mom put smoked salmon with a cream cheese on a bagel for lunch! Nowadays, one can make this quick and easy nutritious meal entirely GMO and Gluten-Free with Rudi’s Gluten-Free Multigrain or Original Bread and Organic Valley Cream Cheese! Most likely not going to be a hit with your children, but I like to add thin slices of red onion and capers to my smoked salmon bagel.
- Smoked Salmon
- Rudi’s Gluten-Free Multigrain or Original Bread
- Organic Valley Cream Cheese
- Thinly Sliced Red Onions (Optional)
- Capers or Olive Tapenade (Optional)
- Toast Rudi’s Gluten-Free Multigrain or Original Bread
- Spread Cream Cheese
- Add Smoked Salmon!
