Ever wanted to take a cruise? Who hasn’t! But, did you know that the number of Americans with celiac disease would fill up 936 cruise ships? And, most astounding is that the passengers on 908 of the ships wouldn’t even know they have the disease!
There is good news though; Charlotte, N.C. is doing something to help gluten-free foodies live life to the fullest. The city will host the Gluten/Allergen Free Expo at the Park Expo & Conference Center on June 2. You’ll be amazed by all the options out there for people living with food allergies.
The event begins at 9 a.m. with expert presentations, accompanied by a tasty gluten-free pancake breakfast. Who doesn’t love experts and pancakes?
The vendor hall opens at 11 a.m., when even more fun begins. Until 4 p.m., attendees will enjoy educational presentations by Dr. Alessio Fasano, director of the Center for Celiac Research, and Dr. Akiba Green, from Lake Norman Wellness, as well as demos from Jules Shepard of Jules Gluten-Free and Chef Peter Pollay of Posana Café in Asheville, N.C. Up to 150 vendors will also be at the expo to talk about their top gluten-free products and help you live a happy, allergen-free life.
This is one day you will not want to miss. Rudi’s Gluten-Free will be sampling tortillas with the always delicious White Girl Salsa at the event, so we hope you’ll join us and say hello as we celebrate our gluten-free friends!
