Make the holidays fun and gluten-freely educational!

December 21, 2011

Happy Holidays Gluten-free followers! Christmas is literally right around the corner and it is time to get down to the nitty gritty! Over the past few weeks we have been talking a lot about the holiday time, staying healthy and eating gluten-free.  One thing we have not mentioned however is how the holiday season is a opportune time to teach others about eating gluten-free! Eating gluten-free can be a very confusing idea for those relatives that may not understand what gluten even is SO here are a few ideas on how to help those who have not learned about YOUR gluten-free eating!

  1. Leave a little educational material on the coffee table! At some point over the holiday someone is bound to be looking for some reading material and will take an interest in a Gluten-free magazine!
  2. Cookie tasting! Make gluten-free cookies and invite over some friends to give them a try. After testing the cookies surprise your guests by explaining that all of the cookies are gluten-free!
  3. Looking for a conversation topic other than the latest NFL football game, politics or how cold it is outside? Why not talk about food and healthy eating! This is a great way to engage your guests and maybe set some goals with them for the New Year!
  4. Not eating at home this year for the holiday? Bring your gluten-free dish with you, be sure to explain to your hosts why you brought such a special dish and open the conversation to questions!

If you have any other ideas about sharing and educating your friends and relatives be sure to post in the comment section or on R facebook and twitter pages to share with all of R followers!

Wishing you a happy healthy gluten-free holiday!

As Always,

Tighe
