Baked on the Bright Side

Make The Best Tasting Gluten-Free Tortilla Bowl With Rudi’s!

May 21, 2013

Need a great, fun, delicious way to take part in Tortilla Tuesday?  One of our lovely Facebook fans, Elaine, came up with the idea to make a tortilla bowl with our critically acclaimed gluten-free tortillas!  Since our tortillas are the most durable, most naturally sourced gluten-free tortillas on the market I am always looking for new ways to implement them into a meal.  Tortilla bowls are excellent alternatives to burritos and tacos because they allow one to choose what ingredients he/she eats with each bite.

Considering gluten-free tortillas are more expensive than normal tortillas, we always want to get the most out of each gluten-free tortilla.  One can fit more ingredients in a tortillas bowl since it does not need to be wrapped like a taco or burrito.

Here are Elaine’s easy-to-follow instructions to convert our tortillas into tortilla bowls!:

“I turned an ovenproof cereal bowl upside down on a cookie sheet, and sprayed it with non-stick cooking spray. I set a tortilla on top (fresh out of the freezer) and sprayed that with cooking spray, then put it in a 350-degree oven for 15 minutes.

It was delicious! I think I could also make an edible ice cream bowl by following the same procedure, but giving it a little sprinkle of cinnamon sugar before it goes in the oven…”

Enjoy!
