Baked on the Bright Side

Green Schools Works for a Healthy Start and Glutenfreedom!

March 1, 2012

Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend the day serving up some darn good grilled cheese sandwiches at the Green Schools National Conference in Denver, Colorado.  Students, teachers, coaches, nonprofits, food service representatives and foodie professionals gathered to discuss the current food system in R school systems! Rudi’s, Evol Burritos, Organic Valley, Love Grown Foods and a handful of other vendors had the amazing opportunity to hang out and serve these inspiring “game changers!”

It was pretty awesome to see so many motivated individuals fly in from all over the country to support the need for change in R schools systems! While this conference was not focused on allergy friendly specifically gluten-freedom the topic of food education, nutrition and growing your own food are all very important topics and leading examples to educating all about proper food habits and restrictions.

I was very excited to see Rudi’s become a part of such a growing movement to green schools and bring better awareness to the food we are eating! We try to support the gluten-free community in all areas of eating and this is one step towards making a healthier, allergy friendly kind of schooling system we all want for R kids!
