Baked on the Bright Side

Traveling Organically

July 18, 2012

It’s time to take a vacation! Whether you’re going to the beach, the mountains or the city, a big concern about vacations for the organic eater is finding restaurants that use whole, organic ingredients. I’ve made a collection of what I think would be great organic restaurants around the country.

Nana

Located in Chicago, Illinois and featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive ins and Dives, Nana has great organic food most of their ingredients come from farmers in Illinois and Wisconsin. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner but breakfast is my favorite and reading their menu, has me drooling over the omelet selection and the French toast!

757 Fire & Vine

If you’re ever in Virginia Beach, Fire and vine looks like the place to be. The contemporary setting and smoky, wood fire cooked foods sound like a great meal after a long day in the ocean, not to mention that it’s an ideal restaurant for vegans, vegetarians and people with gluten allergies.

Holuakoa Café

In the heart of such a beautiful island, is Holuakoa Café is located in Holualoa, Hawaii. Everything that is served here is locally sourced, organic and hormone free and their food is delivered to you quickly after it is ordered. Their brie burger and quiche were praised quite heavily when reading consumer reviews.

La Tour Restaurant & Bar

For that next snowy vacation, La Tour Restaurant and Bar located in Vail, Colorado has been voted the best restaurant in Vail since 2006.  With an extensive wine list and a  stunning selection of cheese plates, you’ll be sure to enjoy a wonderfully sophisticated dinner in Vail.

Organic restaurants are relatively simple to find, so not to worry next time you hop on a plane to a new place! I found these websites helpful in finding these great restaurants.
