It has been a pleasure to work with The LunchBox this year! This summer, Rudi’s Organic Bakery hosted the Let’s Doodle Lunch promotion. We asked parents to submit their children’s artwork to receive a free sandwich box custom made with their child’s artwork on them. For each of the over 18,000 sandwich boxes ordered, Rudi’s Organic Bakery donated $1 to support healthier lunches for kids across the country.
The LunchBox is an organization that works towards getting healthier foods in school lunches and breakfasts. Their website has a plethora of resources educating the public about the importance of healthy foods in our children’s diets. The LunchBox features other great organizations like the National Farm to School Network and Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools.
The National Farm to School Network connects local farmers to schools (K-12) to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to students. This is a wonderful organization, as it not only benefits the students but the local farmers as well. Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools has raised over $3.7 million and created over 1,400 salad bars in schools and those are just about 20% of their goal! This organization brings fruits and vegetables to schools and allows kids to get their lunches fresh from a salad bar.
The LunchBox aims to “ensure that all children have access to healthy food at school to grow their bodies, minds and future.” This is so important and us here at Rudi’s Organic Bakery want the same thing for America’s children.
