Relieving Stress Organically

February 28, 2013

Things have been super busy as we are gearing up for Expo West 2013 in Anaheim. When things get busy, it’s seems to become the hardest time to think about meal time. What do you do in those types of situations? It’s easy to lose focus of being healthy when feeling wound up or stressed. I typically like to cook for myself a lot, however not when there is too much to do. In order for me to stay healthy and feel good while i’m working harder than normal, I have a few tips and tricks to keep me feeling good

Working out- If I have a lot going on, I try to work out for at least 30 minutes. That could mean walking around the block during my lunch, or going to the gym and taking a class.

Snacking healthfully throughout the day- on days that I work harder, I want to eat more. I make sure to bring LOTS of food packed with nutritional goodness. I pack lots of  Organic watery fruits such as berries, apples, and pears, light  Organic vegetables like carrots, celery and peppers.

Eating breakfast- I find that when I eat breakfast, I don’t get tired as easy throughout the day. I LOVE to bring a jar of White Mountain Organic Bulgarian Yogurt, and top it off with an organic banana and some of my homemade organic granola. I’ll also take a Rudi’s Organic Bakery whole spelt tortilla and do a roll up with Justin’s Nut butter, and an Organic banana.

Getting extra ZZZZZ’s- Sleeping is EXTRA important when you are hard at work. I try to get at least 8 hours when I have a lot going on. I like to take a hot shower and crawl into bed with hot peppermint tea and a great book to help me relax and decompress from a long day.
