TRUE. Organic bread is, in fact, better for you and here we have proof! I found all of this information from the Organic Center’s research on the topic and I thought it would be beneficial to Rudi’s readers.
Right off the bat, organic bread has on average, 49% more whole ingredients where non-organic breads contain about 12%. What makes up that missing 37% for the non-organic, you ask? Preservatives, additives, artificial ingredients, etc. which all affect the level of nutrition you’re receiving from the foods you’re consuming.
When bread is processed, refined, has preservatives, etc. the bread quickly loses its nutritional value. By eating organically you can be sure that everything your consuming is wholesome. The differences are immense. When you refine or process an ingredient, it on average contains less that 75% of the nutrients found in its original form. Preservatives are not added to increase nutritional value, rather to enhance and extend freshness.
Your non-organic bread may last a little longer, but your organic bread might make YOU last a little longer.
