I can, with confidence, say that I am a Colorado girl, waking up to the first snowfall of the season makes my heart race and my thoughts explode! I absolutely love the snow, cold, and all things Autumn and Winter. Waking up this morning to a white wonderland and a wet desk (I left my window open last night) was the most perfect way to start my day. Hello first snow fall in Boulder, Colorado:)
Warm coffee, tea, and hot chocolate flooded my social media pages but rarely did apple cider make an appearance, it is such a forgotten able and underrated gem. Break your routine and make a soothing cup tonight for a sweet treat.
Organic Apple Cider
Ingredients
- 6 cups of water
- 4 medium organic sized skinned apples
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp ground clove
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 1 tbsp organic pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
Directions:
Bring water to a boil, add maple syrup, brown sugar, spices, and zest, be sure to be whisking everything in so they can evenly disperse. Reduce heat to a simmer and add in apples, cook for about 10 minutes or until apples are soft. The longer you keep the apples in the stronger the taste:)
Adults:
add in some bourbon or rum to make this soothing drink even warmer.
