Baked on the Bright Side

Greatest Organic Granola

February 25, 2013

A couple of years ago, I wanted to make my granola fiend friend a healthier version of his favorite noshing food. I looked once on the back of the packaging and was shocked by what was inside. Knowing that granola was one of the easiest foods to make, I decided to make up my own organic recipe for his indulgence.  I’ve kept my recipe a secret all this time, but I’m about to spill the beans to you! I decided to share this amazing recipe with you because it’s no fun keeping great tasting food secrets all to yourself.

Baxter’s Organic Granola

6 C. Organic Rolled Oats

½ C. Organic Wild Flower Honey

3 Tbsp. Organic canola oil

1 C. Organic dried apple, diced

1 C. Organic Pumpkin seeds, walnuts, or almonds

1 C. raisins

1 C. Organic crystallized ginger

4 Tbsp. Cinnamon

1 Tbsp. Nutmeg

1 Tbsp. Cardamom

Salt to taste

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a large mixing bowl, add organic rolled oats, organic wild flower honey, organic canola oil, pumpkin seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, salt to taste. Mix together thoroughly.

Once mixed, place evenly on a baking sheet. Make sure the sheet isn’t too covered.

After 25 minutes, take sheet out. Mix in the rest of the ingredients and place back in the oven for 15 minutes or until oats turn brown

Take out of oven and rest on counter until cool

Enjoy!!!
