Not to worry, this bark doesn’t actually “bite.”
I just love making holiday barks whether it’s for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah, or just for fun! This year, I tried out a Halloween bark and it came out great! I love barks because they’re so versatile! You can always add new ingredients that sound tasty like pretzel and cookie bits. Usually I used colored chocolate for my fun barks, but white, milk and dark will work wonderfully if you can’t get your hands on some all natural food coloring.
Here’s my take on a Halloween bark!
Get creative: Add different cookies, candy bits and chocolate where necessary and enjoy this spooky day!
Halloween Bark
What you’ll need:
One cookie sheet
Parchment paper
Flexible spatula
8 ounces milk chocolate
8 ounces white chocolate
Natural food colors
Candy corns
Back to Nature Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
Chocolate sprinkles
Halloween sprinkles
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, pour milk chocolate chips and place in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir chocolate pieces until the bowl is cool and place back into the microwave for another 30 seconds and repeat until chocolate is melted (never place in the microwave for longer than 30 seconds because the chocolate will burn.) Once the milk chocolate is melted, pour onto your cookie sheet that is lines with parchment paper and spread to create an even layer using your flexible spatula. Place the tray in the freezer while completing the next step.
Divide the white chocolate evenly into 2 bowls and melt them both using the same process used in melting the chocolate chips. Squirt some all-natural orange colored chocolate coloring into one of the bowls of melted white chocolate and stir to combine. Remove the tray of milk chocolate from the freezer and drizzle the white and orange chocolates over the top.
Now crush up the chocolate sandwich cookies and sprinkle those over the wet white and orange chocolate along with the various sprinkles and candy corns. Let dry for a few hours, break off big chunks and enjoy!
This recipe is so easy to make and fun and tasty for the kids! The candy corns aren’t quite “natural,” so if you left them out, I’m sure it would still make a great festive bark! Enjoy and have a very Happy Halloween!
